I tried with youtube playlist, but it stopped at the first song. I also tried to open local media, but it never worked. Looking forward next release.

It is a very simple, yet very useful app. I use it for watching PIP Youtube or to listen to Mixcloud / Soundcloud etc.

This has been an amazing tool for me at work. Being able to have a full browser window on top of anything I work on has been a great help. My only wish is that YouTube videos would go fullscreen without me having to put the link directly into Helium.

Love it. Works great with youtube! but does not open local files. Please fix it, would be very happy to update the rating.

This is an awesome app. Really simple, really focused and it meets a need. Really nice. It would be nice if you could load local files and ALSO if you could open multiple floating windows. Great app!

used with netflix and youtube would be great to be able to go full screen, if you decided you wanted to have a more focused viewing experience when you’re done multitasking.

Works great on my laptop but when using it on my mac mini I get HDCP errors on Netflix cause it doesnt think my external monitors are compliant. There are ways around this in regular browsers but it won’t play anything on Netflix for me. Can’t rate app very high with such a big hurdle, I use my Mini with external monitors for most of my work.

Works perfect, but its such a hassle to copy the video URL, launch the app, go to the location section, paste the URL to use the app, that most times i end up manually shrinking safari instead. The app would be perfect if you could launch it quicker, ie, by right clicking a video link. Also, a youtube script support would be nice.

It is very usefull to watch online broadcasts in small window which appears always on top.

Videos from web work great! But a i can’t load videos from my Mac and i dont know why. Please, fix it

I want to start by saying I LOVE this app. I never knew I needed something like this so thank you for making it. It would be easier if when I clicked on the window to select the app to, for example, then use the spacebar to puase what’s playing, that it would select it. As it stands now I usually have to click on the icon on the Dock to get it to select the window. Additionally, many times when using Netflix I get an error on Netflix to reload the page and try again. This may not be the fault of the app, but something with Netflix that dooesn’t like the app. Thank you again for this amazing app!

The thought of this application is great. I just find it useless because I am on the iMac 5K 27inch (Late 2015). It just seems pointless since I have so much space on my screen for other applciations like Netflix. I would say this app is great to use if you have a 13 or 15 inch MacBook. This app still deserves the 5 stars.

The app itself is great, but the ability to open files does not work. I click the open file button, choose my video, and nothing loads (the web feature still works). There’s a lot of times when I need to look at videos I have downloaded, so fixing this bug would be nice.

This app saves me. I love being able to keep up with a news livestream, or sports livestream while dealing with emails or working on homework. It’s really a nifty app. THough I’d love to have app specific volume control (rather than just muting my whole computer) and I’d love to be able to have more than one video playing.

Thanks! It’s unbelievable how hard it is to find an app that does anything so well! Works with Netflix, and I plan on trying it with Amazon Video as well.

Yep, the “Open File” feature is broken in 2.0. I use this exclusively for watching tutorials launched from on my computer (not from the web), so Helium drops from “excellent” to “useless” with that single glitch. I loved the program for its ability to go back a few seconds in the movie (for review) with a single click, a feature that (the much smoother working) Fluid Browser doesn’t have. YET. But Fluid Browser’s my choice now, with lamentations for Helium’s broken functionality.

This product does not work on a 27 inch iMac… The window is smaller than my iPhone, now ay to expand it, no way to get to the login info section of the displayed page… what a waste of time ...

I used to use Afloat, but having to get SIMBL and Afloat working again after every OS upgrade when they are no longer really supported became a headache. I love Heliums minimalist interface, how it does just what its supposed to, and how it installs and updates from the App Store. Only have a couple suggestions based on my use: - Clicking on the app window does not bring up the apps menu in the menu bar. You have to switch to it using Command + Tab. - When choosing "Open Web URL..." in the menu, the app does not put the cursor focus in the text input that appears. You have to click in the input to focus on it. - Wish there was a way to integrate an ad blocker somehow.
